When your father saw how much she had hurt you, he got rid of them, which is a very appropriate response and a response that a lot wouldn’t take. It seems like your father has truly tried to make amends, and I would suggest you meet him in the middle and let go of this grudge. He shouldn’t have made a joke about it and you need to set boundaries in regards to that. It really sounds like you need to learn to communicate your thoughts and feelings to your father.
