My first thought also is, no a 13 year old should not be watching an infant. But I think that also depends on a lot of things. Has this child babysat other kids before? Are they CPR certified? Is there a neighbor or someone nearby who can occasionally check on them? Does he have a cell phone he can use for emergencies? Would I trust my 13 year old nephew to babysit my newborn? No, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t 13 year olds out there more than capable of doing it. But if this is something you are clearly not okay with, your coparent should respect that and you should work together to find alternative forms of childcare
